Dear Kingsway Family,A special thanks from Barbie and Jack to all of you for lifting them up in prayer.  They were blessed last night by Cindy and Lora Nardi showing up in the ICU at UCSF Medical Center to encourage them.  Unfortunately, they weren't allowed into the room to see Jack.  Today, has been a little bit rougher on Jack as the treatments are building up in his system.

Hello men!We are very excited about this year's men's retreat and expectant that God has BIG plans for our time on the mountain. Dan Griffiths is the special guest speaker and is excited to share what God is putting on his heart for the men. The retreat is September 10-11. It begins Friday evening at 5pm and goes until late Saturday night. The cost is $125 per guy. Registration is due on Aug.

Dear Kingsway Family,We are rejoicing over the good news from Barbie this afternoon.  God is answering our prayers for Jack.  Here is Barbie Aknin's recent update: Jack is now half-way through his first round of treatments with the Interleukin 2 and is doing very well.  Actually, better than expected.  His vital signs have remained strong but are now beginning to show some evidence of the treatments.

Dear Kingsway Family,I've just talked with Barbie Aknin and she reports that Jack is doing very well and after his first full day of Interleukin 2 treatments has suffered almost no side effects at all.  He did have some "plumbing" issues but in the greater scheme of things, it is considered a mild reaction to the treatments.  Our prayers are working.  His greatest issue right now is the pressure on his spine from being on his back in bed.
